Dear Rotarians and Friends

Another Rotary year has just ended and we are now into a new Rotary Year (2008-2009). Time certainly flies! With the support of my fellow Rotarians, their spouses and friends, we recently had our Installation cum Rotary-ITE Student Excellence Award Presentation at the Holiday Inn Atrium on 21 June 2008.

It was a momentous occasion for the students’ parents to witness their child receiving the award from our Guest of Honour, Mr Zainudin Nordin, Mayor Central Singapore District and MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.

I would like to thank my fellow Rotarians in having trust in me to take up the leadership for RCBJ. I hope to continue the good work of all our Past Presidents and hopefully bring our club to a higher plateau. To achieve this, your continued support and involvement, together with the Board of Directors is extremely important. I hope that together with you, your families and friends, we will be able to spread the Rotary spirit and encourage the younger generation to participate in community activities.

This year, we look forward to another exciting year with the Rotary International’s theme “Make Dreams Real”. Rotary International’s message for all of us is to assist to make dreams real, especially for the young and impoverished children. We must all work together to provide hope and a chance for all children, both in our communities and in communities overseas through our international service projects, to aim to meet the needs of the children. We can all achieve to realize their dreams through our water, health, hunger and literacy projects which aim to improve the lives of children around the globe. Let us all inspire our fellow Rotarians, spouses and friends to join hands to make this a reality.

Please join me this year to assist RCBJ in Making Dreams Real and building better leaders within our future generations.

Sincerely,

11th RCBJ Installation Ceremony/Rotary ITE Student Excellent Award Presentation
Message from PE Tan Keng Keng

On behalf of our 2007/08 BOD and Installation Planning Committee, I am pleased to confirm our 11th Installation dinner will be held at "Made in China - Hua Song" Haw Par Villa (
www.huasong.org), Saturday evening 14th of July 2007.

Our Guest of Honor will be MP Ms Jessica Tan from East Coast, and the price for the dinner will be $55/pax.

The venue itself has a wonderful Chinese Migrant Museum of which I, and perhaps some of you as 2nd/3rd generation Chinese in South East Asia may have the priviledge to share with our Rotarians from other ethnic cultures and overseas rotarians. Evening begins at 6.30pm for those who wish to tour the museum (it is really an interesting one), and seating will be 7.00pm sharp.

Please make a date with yourself, your family to join us in this joyous celebration. We promise it will be an interesting evening and we need your support to make it happen. Other than yourself and your family, please also extend the invitation to your friends, business contacts as it will be a good opportunity for us to share Rotary as we march forward towards
